This is a very personal project. When choosing a theme for my daughter's first birthday, it was not very hard to settle in "under the sea". She absolutely loves water, all her squish bath toys (which are sea creatures) and her swimming lessons.
As her favorite squish toy is the Blowfish, I started from there. We sent out a Save the Date card featuring a blowfish blowing a party blower.
The invitation, and thus, the key visual for the theme, featured a more complex scene, and included not only the blowfish, which now appears alongside the balloons, but also an octopus, a shark, and our two dachshund dogs with diving masks. This illustration was used not only for the invitations, but as stickers and even some additional decorations.
As additional pieces, I also worked on small tablets for the food table, featuring sea animals holding signs with the food names.
